Create the template once. Collect every signature.
Docjig combines reusable document templates with electronic signatures. Turn an existing PDF or Word document into a reviewed template, make your next copy, and send it to multiple signers through private email links.
Add signature, initials and signing-date fields, assign them to the right people, and track who still needs to sign. Each recipient reviews and signs in their browser without creating a Docjig account. When everyone finishes, keep a sealed PDF with a completion receipt.
Free: 3 saved templates and 3 new documents per UTC calendar month. No credit card required. Personal: $9 USD/month plus applicable tax for 100 saved templates and 100 new documents per month. Storage and field-inference limits apply. See Plan & usage in your workspace.
Start with your template, or a one-off document
For a recurring lease, renewal or client agreement, create a reusable template from a document you already use. Review what changes, keep the wording you trust, and approve an exact version. Fill it with new values for each copy; fixed wording stays put. Signing continues that workflow in the same workspace.
For a one-off request, upload a PDF or Word file (.docx) directly in Documents. You can prepare it for signing without creating a reusable template. Word files convert to PDF; check the converted fonts and page breaks. Uploads are limited to 20 MiB.
How to send a document to multiple signers
- Place signing fields. Open Prepare for signing on your document. Add signature, initials and signing-date fields to blank areas on the PDF. Move or resize placements, use recognized signing areas, or explicitly ask AI to suggest additional locations. Review every placement before saving.
- Assign each person their fields. Enter signer names and email addresses. Color-coded assignments show who owns each field. Each signer needs a signature or initials field. On a document made from a template, you can also leave ordinary fields for recipients to fill.
- Review, finalize and send. Inspect the PDF, finalize the exact version, then choose Send for signature. Confirm the people and assignments before sending. The request freezes that version; later edits do not change what recipients sign.
- Let each recipient review and sign. Everyone receives their own private email link. They complete their assigned fields, preview their typed or drawn signature, and explicitly consent to electronic signing. Signing dates are recorded automatically in UTC. Recipients can sign in any order or decline before signing.
- Track progress and retain the completed copy. Refresh signing status in your workspace to see who has signed. Once all recipients finish, the sender and recipients can download the completed PDF and signing record. Completed-copy emails attach PDFs up to 10 MB; larger documents remain downloadable.
Example: a client and a consultant. Create the next agreement with the client’s name, project and fee from your approved template. Give each party their own signature and date fields, send both invitations, and keep the completed copy when both have signed. The template stays ready for your next client.
What does Docjig’s e-signature workflow include?
| Capability | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Signing fields | Place signature, initials and automatic signing-date fields on reviewed PDF regions. |
| Multiple signers | Assign fields to up to 20 people on one document. Recipients sign in any order. |
| Private invitations | Email a separate private link to each recipient. No recipient account required. |
| Progress and recovery | Refresh signing status, resend unsigned invitations or cancel a pending request. |
| Completed documents | Download the signed PDF with its completion receipt and a separate JSON signing record. |
| Integrity checks | Check the sealed PDF online or retain the public certificate and verifier for offline checking. |
The current flow handles one document per request, with any-order signing. It does not include sequential routing, automatic reminders, bulk sending or custom expiry settings. Unsigned requests expire after 30 days. Resending replaces the previous link; completed requests stay fixed.
How are signing links and documents protected?
Each recipient gets an unguessable private link over HTTPS. They can enter only their assigned fields. Opening a link does not sign the document: the recipient must review it and explicitly adopt their mark and consent. Sending pins the reviewed version, and completed PDFs are stored as immutable copies.
A Docjig cryptographic seal protects the completed agreement, attachments and receipt together. The receipt records stated names, invitation email addresses, consent and UTC signing times. Check a completed PDF against Docjig’s stored record without uploading the file, or use the downloadable offline verifier.
The seal is a self-signed Docjig service seal. It checks document integrity, not independent signer identity or trusted signing time. PDF readers may show an unknown issuer. Email-link access is not an independent identity check. Read the verification guide for the trust limits and retain completed copies before closing your account.
Questions about electronic signatures
Can multiple people sign the same document?
Yes. Docjig supports up to 20 signers on one document. Assign each person their own fields and send a private email link to each signer. They can sign in any order; the completed PDF is available when everyone has signed.
Do signers need a Docjig account?
No. Recipients open their private email link, review the PDF, complete their assigned fields and type or draw their signature in the browser. Each person explicitly consents to electronic signing and can decline before signing.
Can I send a document without creating a template?
Yes. Upload a PDF or Word document in Documents, choose Prepare for signing, place and assign signing fields, then review and finalize the document before sending. Create a reusable template when you want to make future copies with different values.
Can I use Docjig as a DocuSign alternative?
Docjig supports the core electronic signature workflow: adding signing fields, assigning multiple signers, emailing private links, tracking signing status and retaining a completed PDF with a receipt. Its distinctive focus is turning documents you already use into reviewed, reusable templates. The current signing flow handles one document per request in any order; sequential routing, automatic reminders and bulk sending are not included.
Can I track, resend or cancel a signing request?
Yes. Open Signatures to refresh each recipient’s signing and invitation status, resend an unsigned recipient’s invitation or cancel a pending request. Resending replaces the old link. A completed request cannot be cancelled or overwritten. Email-provider acceptance is not confirmation that an invitation reached the inbox.
What do I receive after everyone signs?
The sender and recipients can download the completed PDF and a JSON signing record. The PDF includes a receipt with participants, consent and UTC signing times, and a Docjig cryptographic seal covers the agreement, attachments and receipt. Completed-copy emails attach PDFs up to 10 MB; larger copies remain downloadable. The seal checks document integrity, not independent signer identity or trusted signing time.
Your next agreement starts with the one you trust.
